FAQ

How many hours of wedding videography do we get?
Standard service provides up to 8 hours of photography and this will always start & end whenever it suits you.

Can I arrange extra hours of coverage?
Yes – there is an all inclusive fee of £50 per extra hour. Only 24 hours notice before the wedding is required if you would like to arrange this.

Can we have the ceremony filmed?
If you are keen to have filming during your ceremony, please check in advance with your minister/registrar to make sure it is allowed. Some venues, including churches, charge a fee for videography. If permissible, the ceremony will be captured as comprehensively as possible. Discretion is of prime importance – movement is limited – so you will hardly notice the filming.

Will there be filming during the meal?
Often, the bride and groom do not want their guests photographed or filmed during this period, but if required, the very best care will be taken so that your guests are not disturbed or inconvenienced in the process.

What would a multi-camera shoot entail?
A multi-camera shoot would consist of 3 (or more if requested) cameras. Katharine would be accompanied by members of her creative team, all of whom are television and video professionals. Your wedding ceremony would be covered from a number of different angles, allowing greater coverage and visual enhancement of the edit. You might want to have one camera attend the bridal preparations whilst the other cameras wait with the groom and guests at the venue. The possibilities are endless! It is always best to book a multi-camera video shoot as early as possible to avoid disappointment, especially during the busy summer period.

What happens if our videographer is ill?
Katharine has not missed a booking yet – but if the worst happens, a network of experienced & talented videographers can be called on at very short notice to cover your wedding.

What happens if the camera fails?
Equipment failure is very rare these days, but a spare camera is always taken to every booking.

Can we have bits of the video in black & white?
Everything is shot in colour and can later be converted into any style you choose - black & white, sepia, slow motion etc. Planning meetings would be arranged in which you can express preferences of style. Please note there may be a nominal fee incurred for any unusually complex work.

Can we choose all the music?
Couples are encouraged to provide a CD or list with the music they would like used in the edit. Often the bride & groom choose their favourite songs or artists, or music that they are using at the ceremony or reception.

When do we get to see our video after the wedding?
Many videographers spend only 5-10 days on the editing of a wedding DVD, and the finished film often suffers as a result. As a professional and experienced editor, Katharine takes pride in creating polished and stylish films her clients will want to watch again and again, regularly spending between 4-6 weeks on the post-production of wedding DVDs. The finished Feature and Montage versions are then authored to DVD, with 3 copies usually delivered within 2 months of the wedding.

How long are our films stored with you?
Everything is safely stored for a minimum of 3 years.

As video producers, why are you offering a reportage stills photography service?
Katharine’s team is comprised of TV & film professionals who are also talented photographers. Making the most of these skills, our subsequent stills-enhanced wedding videos have had an overwhelmingly positive response, and the bride and groom are always thrilled to have this extra record of their special day. See examples of this reportage photography service here.

Will booking your reportage photographer pose a problem for our official photographer?
No - our reportage photographers work with the utmost discretion and are always focused to remain unobtrusive. It is their highest priority not to obstruct the official photographer in any way.

Is the reportage photography digital or film?
Digital, as it offers many advantages over film - the most notable being that the material & distribution costs are minimised.

How many reportage photos will you take?
There is no limit. On average, hundreds!

Do we get to keep all the digital files?
Yes - and for no extra charge! The standard reportage service includes a complete set of all your digital photos, high resolution & print-ready. After processing, the digital files are transferred onto CD ready for delivery alongside your wedding DVDs.

Can we have the photos in black & white?
Everything is shot in colour and can later be copied and converted into your style of choice - black & white, sepia etc.

How much is your deposit payment?
£250 secures your booking, and is refundable upon cancellation providing it is no less than 8 weeks before the event. The balance payment is made no less than 14 days before the event.
